This was announced by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov during a meeting of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin with members of the Government of the Russian Federation. The main topic was the prevention of the spread of the new coronavirus infection and the increase in the rate of vaccination. The head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science summed up the results of the work of universities during the non-working days and spoke about the progress of vaccination at Russian universities.
Valery Falkov emphasized that the non-working day regime made it possible to reduce the number of Covid-19 cases among students and teachers – in the period from October 30 to November 8, 33% fewer cases of the disease were recorded.
“Since October 30, universities and scientific organizations have been given the right to conduct training in the form of independent work or in a remote format using remote technologies, depending on the epidemiological situation in each specific region. According to our operational monitoring, 65% of universities have chosen a remote work format. Another 27% – independent work, 6% – used a mixed format, 2% – announced the postponement of vacations. The general decision for universities was the cancellation of mass extracurricular activities, ”said the head of the department.
Valery Falkov noted that at the moment almost 1000 vaccination points are operating at educational and scientific organizations. Thus, teachers and students of more than 80% of universities have the opportunity to take root at the university.

The head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science added that due to the fact that in the regions the situation with the spread of COVID-19 is developing in different ways, the department issued an order on organizing the work of universities, taking into account the epidemiological situation. It allows educational organizations to determine their own format of work.
