Traditionally, IT areas of training remain the most popular among applicants, because qualified specialists in this area are in high demand in the modern labor market. For the 2022/2023 academic year, Russian universities have increased the number of budget places in 63 areas in 19 enlarged groups of specialties and areas (UGSN) for training personnel for the digital economy. At the expense of the federal budget, more than 160.4 thousand students will be able to receive higher education in the IT field, with 71% of them at regional universities.
