The Nature Index 2021 Young Universities is the latest edition of the biennial ranking of world universities founded less than 50 years ago and featured in the overall Nature Index rankings. The position of each organization in the list is determined by the number of contributions of scientists affiliated with it to the scientific articles of the Nature Index list – these are 82 authoritative journals. For example, two co-authors have published an article, and they both have double affiliations with different universities. Then each of the four universities will be credited with 0.25 publications, and so on with each article. As a result, these two prestigious universities in Russia get the total result, according to which Skoltech came out this year to 65th line and ITMO University ranked in 68th line of the rating out of 150.
