Rostov-on-Don- After the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, students of the Southern Federal University(SFedU) began to show more interest in areas related to life sciences, SFedU Rector Inna Shevchenko said in a press conference.
“This is not only medicine but also biology, physics, chemistry, medical technology, clinical psychology. Even before the pandemic, digital and engineering were popular,” she said.
According to Shevchenko, at present, both the scientific sphere and large companies have a request for research related to artificial intelligence and human-robot interaction systems, the creation of modern interfaces.
“I think this is dictated by the general situation on the market and the revival of the system of the domestic electronic component base, the creation of domestic basic technologies,” she stressed.
Southern Federal University is the largest scientific and educational center in the south of Russia. According to the annual National Ranking of Universities (NRU) for 2021, prepared by the Interfax International Information Group, the university is in the TOP-20 and takes 15th place.
