The results of the Russian national award “Student of the Year-2021” among university students were summed up in Moscow. This is a joint project of the Russian Union of Youth and the presidential platform “Russia – a country of opportunities“. The prize was awarded the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia within the framework of the federal project “Social Elevators for Everyone” and became an official event of the Year of Science and Technology. Denis Davydov, a student of Kazan Federal University (KFU), became the absolute winner and winner of the Grand Prix.
For eight days, students competed online in 12 nominations. They took part in competitive tests, where there were individual and collective tasks: self-presentation, special tests, case studies, open lessons, debates, social design, and role-playing games. The winners were announced on December 20 during the broadcast in the ” Student of the Year ” group of the VKontakte social network.

Denis Davydov, a student of the Institute of International Relations of the Kazan Federal University, became the absolute winner and owner of the Grand Prix. Denis is a participant and winner of mini-football competitions. Under his leadership, the team of the university took second place in the championship of the highest division of the student football league of the Republic of Tatarstan. At the All-Russian Sports Festival “ASSK.Fest” Denis Davydov, together with the team “Kazan Yulbars”, won the football competition in the 6×6 format.

Also, the winners were determined in individual and collective nominations. Pavel Doroshenko from the Maikop State Technological University (Republic of Adygea) won the nomination “Public of the Year” . Leyli Kalendarova from the Russian State Geological Prospecting University named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze (Moscow) received the title of the winner in the “Foreign Student of the Year” nomination. Nikita Lobanov (Kazan branch of the Russian State University of Justice, Republic of Tatarstan) became the winner in the nomination “Chairman of the Council of Students of the Year”, and Anastasia Karmaeva (Surgut State Pedagogical University, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra) won in the nomination “Sportsman of the Year”. Camilla Prahova was awarded the title “Creative Person of the Year” from Kazan National Research Technological University (Republic of Tatarstan), and Anastasia Barkova (Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman) won first place in the “Intelligence of the Year” nomination.
The Legal Clinic of the Nizhny Novgorod Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (Nizhny Novgorod Region) won in the nomination “Legal Association of the Year”, and the Volunteer Center of the Southern Federal University (SFedU, Rostov Region) in the nomination “Volunteer Association of the Year”. The best “Cybersport Club of the Year” was recognized as Cybersport RTU MIREA (MIREA – Russian Technological University, Moscow). The title of “Patriotic Association of the Year” was received by the search squad “Rearguard” Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (Moscow). The winner in the Student Media of the Year nomination was the SFEDUMEDIA Student Media Center (SFedU), and the Student Scientific Society of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow) in the Student Scientific Society of the Year nomination.

The Russian national award “Student of the Year” is a uniquely competitive and educational project for students of educational organizations of Russia with special achievements in educational, scientific, sports, creative and social life. In total, 8 thousand students from 75 regions became participants in the award, and 600 people from 71 regions of the country became finalists.
Finalists will be able to take part in the Mentoring program of the Senezh Management Workshop educational center. They will be curated by the winners and finalists of the Leaders of Russia, Digital Breakthrough, and Leaders of Education contests. The winner of the competition, Denis Davydov, received a cash prize of 60 thousand rubles.
The organizers of the award were the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Tomsk Region, the All-Russian Public Organization “Russian Union of Youth”, the Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization “Russia – the Land of Opportunities”. The event was held with the informational support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.
