Another 137 Afghan students arrived in Russia. The phased export of Afghan citizens to continue or begin their studies at Russian universities was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Defense of Russia on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Recall that in early December, the first group of students, consisting of 139 people, arrived at the Chkalovsky airfield.
Another group of Afghan citizens arrived in Russia with two military transport planes. Earlier, as part of the humanitarian mission of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, together with the Russian Embassy in Afghanistan and Russian universities, significant work was carried out to update and restore contacts with students in this state. In particular, operational visa support was provided, including to Afghan students enrolled in the preparatory faculty or the first year.
In addition, conditions were created on the territory of Russia for the temporary isolation of students as part of the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection, as well as for their further placement and travel to the place of study.
Students arriving from Afghanistan will receive higher education in such Russian universities as:
- Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation;
- Dagestan State University;
- Kazan National Research Technological University;
- Irkutsk National Research Technical University;
- Ural State Economic University;
- Ural Federal University;
- State University of Management;
- Russian University of Transport and others.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, together with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Afghanistan, continues to form lists of Afghan students to be included in the number of passengers on subsequent special flights.
