The admission quota for foreign students in the Russian Universities will increase to 30 thousand by 2023

Moscow. – The number of places for foreign students in Russia will increase from 23,000 to 30,000 in 2023, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation reports.

“The number of places allocated to foreign citizens for studying under the quota of the government of the Russian Federation will be increased by 5 thousand places in 2022 and will amount to 23 thousand places, and in 2023 30 thousand places. In 2021, the annual quota for foreign students did not exceed 18 thousand places,” the statement said.

It is noted that this academic year, most applications for admission came from China, Vietnam, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Nigeria, South Africa, Afghanistan, India, and Bangladesh.

The number of accepted citizens of the CIS for education under the quota of the government of the Russian Federation for the undergraduate, specialist, and master’s programs this academic year increased by 16%.
