Rossotrudnichestvo has developed a draft regulation on the State Information System “Education in the Russian Federation for Foreigners” (GIS “ORFI”), which allows citizens of other countries to remotely apply for study in the Russian Federation and monitor the admissions campaign via the Internet.
The corresponding draft decree of the government of the Russian Federation was published on the portal of regulatory legal acts on Monday.
As noted in the regulation on GIS, in addition to foreigners, the system will be available to stateless persons and compatriots permanently residing abroad.
The system will allow foreign candidates to submit documents and applications for admission to organizations of secondary vocational, higher education, additional professional and general education programs. Also, GIS will inform about the number of quotas allocated by the government of the Russian Federation and help candidates in career guidance.
The GIS is planned to support Russian, English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, Vietnamese, Turkish, Arabic, Hindi, Mongolian, Malaysian, Farsi and Uzbek.
The system will be operated by Rossotrudnichestvo.
