Krasnogorsk – The new medical faculty on the basis of the Odintsovo branch of MGIMO will begin accepting students in the summer of 2022, said Anatoly Torkunov, rector of the university, chairman of the Public Chamber of the Moscow Region.
“Several years ago, the governor’s idea was born, aimed at creating a medical university that would work for the interests of the Moscow region. And MGIMO-MED is called upon to fulfill this task. (…) We plan to start recruiting in the summer of 2022,” said Torkunov.
Students will be trained at two sites – in the operating rooms and laboratories of the Lapino clinical hospital, theoretical courses will be given at the MGIMO base in Odintsovo.
Curricula, staff have already been prepared, agreements on network interaction with medical institutions, research institutions of the medical and biological profile have been signed.
The opening of the new faculty was announced by the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov during his annual report to the residents of the region and deputies of the Moscow Regional Duma on Thursday. The first set will include 50 students.
