Russian Government: Upcoming Admission Campaign in Universities

The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia developed a draft outlining the upcoming admission campaign in universities. And as per the draft paper, the admissions campaign at Russian universities will start on June 20, 2021. Admission of documents ends on July 29, 2021, for participants based on the results of the Unified State Exam. As well as entrance examinations conducted independently by educational institutions. By August 2, 2021, the competition selections will release.

Further, the terms of the end of the academic year, specified by the Russian Ministry of Education, step into account while writing a draft document on the nature of enrollment.

Admissions criteria based on quotas

– Acceptance of enrollment consents for applicants under a special quota. Without entrance exams, the target quota must be completed by August 4, 2021.
– Issuance of orders for admission for persons applying for a special quota. Without entrance examinations, for the target quota by August 6, 2021.
– Acceptance of enrollment consents for the main competition places must be completed by August 4, 2021.

The Ministry committed to the Russian Ministry of Science and Education’s approach of holding the Unified State Exam. And in specific academic subjects in 2021 specifically for the purpose of using the results for undergraduate and specialist program admission.

Submission of applications

The unique features of the upcoming university admissions process include the ability to request documents for admission through postal operators. So in electronic form via the organization’s information system, and via the mega program “Admission to a university online” on the Public Services Portal. In addition, foreign students now can submit documents through Public Services Portal.

The privilege to send documents in person, beginning in 2020.
